Spring Rituals for Renewal & Detox

Image from Pinterest - my app addiction ;)

Born in April - Taurus girl through and through. I’m a spring woman at heart, waiting all year for the end of April and my astrological new year. That’s when I truly feel sprung! But with Greek heatwaves rolling in fast, my real spring is basically just May - so yeah, May is my season, always.

Anyway, each Spring I do the following rituals for a little refresh, focusing especially on my liver health. And let me tell you, the effects are significant ! So, of course, I’m sharing them with you, my lovelies!

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Spring is associated with the Liver, the organ responsible for detoxification and the smooth flow of energy (Qi). Supporting the liver in spring can help release stagnation, improve digestion, and boost overall vitality.

The liver naturally starts its detoxification process in spring, which is why we might feel a bit more irritable or frustrated. In fact, anger is energetically linked to the liver in TCM!

Liver detox: The essentials -

(But make it Ritual :-)

Castor oil packs (see below how to do it)
Foot soaks with baking soda & Epsom salts (before sleep)
Herbal infusions with liver-supporting properties (dandelion, milk thistle, and nettle)
Energizing ginger shots
Sleep early at night
Magnesium & Mineral Supplementation – support detox pathways
Lemon Water in the Morning – Aids digestion & gently flushes toxins
Dry Brushing – Stimulates lymphatic drainage & supports detox
Sweating (Sauna or Movement) – Helps eliminate toxins through the skin
Bitter Greens (like arugula & chicory) – Encourage bile flow & liver function

Castor oil packs - a gentle yet powerful way to support liver function

How It Works:

Castor oil is rich in ricinoleic acid, which has anti-inflammatory and detoxifying properties. When applied topically with heat, the oil penetrates deep into the skin through osmosis, drawing out toxins while stimulating blood flow and lymph movement. This helps the liver process and eliminate waste more efficiently.

How to Do It:

♡ Soak a piece of organic, cold-pressed, hexane-free castor oil onto a piece of organic cotton or wool.
♡ Place it over the liver area (right side of your abdomen, below the ribs).
♡ Cover with plastic wrap and apply a heating pad for 20 minutes.
♡ Relax and allow the oil to penetrate deeply before wiping it off.

♡ Wellness TikTok girls might say to do this daily and for longer, but you should not - twice a week is enough.

(Also, there is really no need to spend 50euros to an amazon kit - just use a piece of cotton and plastic wrap.)

The mighty ginger shots! -

How to do them simply!

Another trend, yes, but this anti-inflammatory force of nature deserves to be all over Instagram! However, I never understand why people waste so much time preparing them in juicers and other time-consuming processes. I've always just done it the simple way and drank it every morning.

The simple way:

And another liver supporting drink I love. ♡

Enough with the liver - please show it some love !

Another Spring Ritual is Sunlight Meditation ☀️

♡ Spend 10-15 minutes in natural sunlight and simply BE.

♡ Ideally, while lying in the sunlight do my Inner Smile Guided Meditation to boost your organs’ Qi energy. Find it in my free training “The Art of Feminine Embodiment”. It’s a great regeneration boost for your cells!
